There are all sorts of exciting things taking place over here in the Unapologetically Evie community! I figured it was best for both of us if I laid out a timeline on what’s in the pipeline so you don’t miss out.
April 9th: Easter Sunday Means No Sunday Snewz
I’ve spent the week deeply reflecting on my growth and setbacks in my spirituality. Moving in and out of the light, moving closer, then further then closer again to God. Examining my journey of transforming my juvenile understanding of God into a mature acceptance of my ignorance and the things I will never know. This means I’ve been reading a lot and listening to scholars, intellectuals and spiritual leaders who I respect. Which in turn means I haven’t been writing The Sunday Snewz this week. I couldn’t bring myself to pay attention to the inhumanity of politics, health lies, gender nonsense and the countless other dragons we St. Georges in retirement are conjuring up. Holy Week has always been a time of deep introspection for me, for reasons which I will share in my Easter article, which you can expect in lieu of The Sunday Snewz this week.
April 13th: Launch of Unapologetically Evie Podcast
My dear and distant friend Hugo from South Africa finished my new podcast animation and introduction this week! After several months of work, which I’ve learned involved his creating over 260 sketches to produce the 8 sec. video, we have a final edit. The voiceover is actually my voice. Me at about 10 years old, interviewing my brother-in-law - proof I am living my childhood dreams and aligning my life with what I have always loved. This has been a major undertaking of converting the 40 year old audio from a mini cassette tape to digital audio (thank goodness the tape survived) and working across a great distance with a talented gentleman who amazingly has a vision compatible with my own. The first look at the intro. is posted above.
The first episode of the new Unapologetically Evie Podcast featuring NYT and Wall Street Journal Best Selling Author
will be released on Thursday, April 13th. Exclusive early access will be available to Paid Subscribers only so be sure to upgrade if you haven’t yet.April 14th 9am/12pm: Monthly Moments Zoom Call
We will move to month two of our 10 month series this month by exploring the topic of Understanding Imagination. I will briefly recap last month’s focus on what it means to be interested in the darkness and then lead you through some thoughts on what it means to understand imagination as a way to understanding life.

April 2023: Unlocking My Diary
I’ve kept a diary for the better part of my life. I believe there is nothing quite as valuable as looking back over one’s life and reading first hand the inner most thoughts and feelings a person experiences at different phases of their life. It keeps you honest. There’s no way to go back and erase what you wrote and there’s no way to go back and change the way you saw the world.
As you might or might not know, I am a big David Sedaris fan. Not only do I appreciate his self deprecating honesty but I marvel at his “elfin magical” way of reading this own writings. Recently I had the idea, what if I used my journals as a way of developing my own voice? Not only would this be great practice for speaking and reading aloud, but it would be another way for me to let others know they aren’t alone. We all have crazy shit running through our minds (some of us more so than others.) We all struggle with selfish thoughts, ugly behaviors, embarrassing moments and things that we regret. Wouldn’t it be nice if people were willing to admit that?
Good news - I am. I will begin a new monthly diary reading this month. I will read aloud my diary entries from the previous month and publish it on the Unapologetically Evie Podcast. We’ll see how it works. If it makes everyone unsubscribe from my Substack, I am have to lock my diary back up.
No promises.
Between my diary, my daily You Matter Meditations (publishing 2024), my book: You Matter, To Everyone Yet To No one (publishing 2024), the Weekly Prompts, The Sunday Snewz, and other essays and articles, I’m writing about 60,000 words per month. I appreciate all of you joining me on this journey!
May 1st: Friendtorship Cohort
I want to thank everyone who submitted an application to the Friendtorship program. The overwhelming interest was humbling to say the least. It was difficult for me to stick to my initial agreement to accept only two clients at a time but in order to provide a deeply personalized experience, I forced myself to stick to the plan. But given the vast number of people who applied, I decided to host a Friendtorship Cohort in order to help more people. The cohort will allow for a group of five individuals to participate in a small group coaching program over the course of three months. We will meet once during each month, where we will focus our attention on the three essential areas of living a better life: EAT. MOVE. LIVE. We will kick things off the first week of May with a month dedicated to LIVE (we start here because without knowing what you want from life, the rest of the stuff really doesn’t matter.) The meetings will be held at my office in downtown CDA so local participants will be able to attend in person and those outside the area will join via zoom. Participation will require being involved in all three months. Anyone interested in joining the cohort should email me asap to claim your spot! evie@eviefatz.com
