We cry to God Almighty, how can we escape this agony? Fool, don’t you have hands? Or could it be God forgot to give you a pair? Sit and pray your nose doesn’t run! Or, rather just wipe your nose and stop seeking a scapegoat.”
-Epictetus Discourses
I have a practice in place of asking myself, “what is your part in this?” While others may be causing us grief, ultimately we are the only ones responsible for solving our problems. Ask yourself, “what is my part in this?” Rather than playing the victim, solve the problem.
Where was the podcast episode this week?
EML Radio is getting a rebrand and a facelift! There are over 3 million podcasts in circulation - I want to offer something different. Since dismantling my company, EML (EAT.MOVE.LIVE.) I’ve been working on rebranding, which means redoing the podcast too. I’ve hit the pause button for the next 3 months in order to interview guests and put our new production into place. Much more of a talk show than a podcast and I’m super excited about the new format.
The new show will launch in September!
Are there guests you’d like to see on the show? Put them in the comments.
This week’s reads!
Speaking of guests, I’m prepping for my upcoming episode with Robb Wolf by revisiting his two New York Times Bestsellers: The Paleo Solution andWired to Eat.
The Paleo Solution was the book that led me into the world of coaching nutrition and fitness years ago. It is a must for anyone who wants to understand the fundamental notion that modern diet is the source of disease and makes evolutionary biology easy to understand.
Wired to Eat takes you to the next crucial step: figuring out what to eat. By walking you through testing what works for your body, Robb reinforces my beliefs that dogmatic diets don’t work because no two people are alike. You have to figure out what works best for your body and this book shows you how to do it.
Five dog ears for both! Rereading these books made me even more excited to have this upcoming conversation with Robb.
