And before you know it, you can no longer distinguish the truth from a lie.
When this whole pandemic started, I refused to pretend like wearing a mask was a sign of my care and concern for the health of others. It was a lie and the last thing I was going to do was lie to people to lessen their fear and give them a false sense of security. When you stop and think about it, pretending a piece of cloth is going to protect someone from a virus that could potentially make them extremely ill is actually quite cruel. Instead, I took an entire day out of my work schedule to create a free immune boosting health guide to lend my expertise so people could do things that actually would protect them. Yet, countless people chastised me and engaged in ideological arguments based upon nonsense with me on social media.
Crazy idea huh? I wasn’t willing to lie and actually gave advice away for free, yet I was somehow selfish and “not part of the solution.” This guide, I must add, has been downloaded fewer times than any other piece of content I have ever written. Ever. In the middle of a so-called deadly pandemic? Hmmm…think on that for about a day or two.
We are now in the middle of an entire theatrical production. We believed lies hoping if we just agreed to one more, this whole situation would come to some sort of magical end. If you wore a mask, you would stop the spread. If we closed down businesses, we would bring this to a close. If you got vaccinated, you could stop wearing masks and go back to living your life. If you vaccinated your children (which is flat out ignorance and irresponsible-shame on parents for subjecting their children to medical experiments because of their fanatical, ideological group think) they could go back to school.
Now that the truth has started to surface and those first sets of lies have been debunked, people are doubling down on the lies and asking you to turn a blind eye and pretend that even more lies are truth.
This is the way lies work. You tell one, then in order to cover that one up, you tell another. Then another and yet another, until the initial lie is lost in a story you no longer remember how it got started. Add to this your unwillingness to accept you were duped and the entire world is a theatrical play of dishonest actors.
Stop acting. Stop lying. This fictional production doesn’t stop until each and every actor stops agreeing to the lie.
